1. FIVERR
This is my number one recommendation for newbies who want
to start freelancing. I have got a couple of freelancing jobs from this site
and got well paid from it.
Fiverr is an Israeli online market for freelancing
services; it is a very popular and reputable site which almost all African
countries.
Fiverr has a wide range of job listings for you to join and employers’ troop daily in search of freelancers.

2. UPWORK
Upwork is another popular freelancing site just like Fiverr. Although I have not made use of this network, I have researched reviews made on it and found the network to be of good reputation.
According to Wikipedia, Upwork has registered about 12
million freelancers and 5 million clients with over 3 million jobs made
available every year. With Upwork clients get to interview freelancers before
they can be accepted to do their bid.
One good thing about this network is that it supports a
lot of African countries and provides a wide range of job listing for
freelancers.
3. PEOPLEPERHOUR
PeoplePerHour is a platform that allows freelancers to
connect with employers within their location. They have a wide range of job
listings for all types of freelancing jobs.
With PeoplePerHour, employers create a bid, potential
workers with the required skill will bid for the job by sending a cover letter
to these employers.
The employer reviews these cover letters and selects a freelancer.
When an agreement is made, both parties create an escrow agreement and deposit a guarantee.
Once the job is done,
confirmed and accepted the payments are released to the employee.
One downside of this platform is that PeoplePerHour
charges a fee on every transaction. But the overall user experience is good.
Editors Pick
Freelancing is great if you have some great digital
skills and you want to work from home.
However, the frequency of jobs can be
sometimes very low and also, considering the fact that you are not their
official employee, some employers tend to price low and you may not have any
option than to accept their prices.
Here are other ways you can make good living from the internet while working from anywhere in Africa.
